چکیده

Abstract High resistance to antimicrobials is associated with biofilm formation responsible for infectious microbes withstand severe conditions. Therefore, new alternatives are necessary as inhibitors control infections. In this study, the antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities of Fagonia indica extracts were evaluated against MDR clinical isolates. The extract exhibited its effect by altering adherence disintegration bacterial cell wall. has antibacterial minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values ranging from 125 500 µg mL-1 bactericidal (MBC) value was 500-3000 multidrug resistant (MDR) had maximum effects chloroform on observed Staphylococcus aureus (71.84%) followed Klebsiella pneumoniae (70.83%) after 48 hrs showing that inhibition also time dependent. Our results about protein leakage indicated isolates treated showed K. (59.14 mL-1) S. (56.7 mL-1). Cell attachment assays resulted in a 43.5-53.5% polystyrene surface. revealed significantly inhibited among isolates, therefore, could be applied agents cost effective inhibitor these

Antibiofilm potential of Lactobacillus plantarum spp. cell free supernatant (CFS) against multidrug resistant bacterial pathogens

Biofilm formation is a major determinant factor in development of bacterial infections. In addition, bacteria embedded in a biofilm are more resistant to antimicrobials and thus the ability of bacteria to persist and grow in a biofilm seems to be the major factor for pathogenesis and therapeutic failure. In the current study, a Lactobacillus plantarum spp was isolated from Siahmazgi cheese, tra...

Marine Actinomycetes with Probiotic Potential and Bioactivity Against Multidrug-resistant Bacteria

Considering antimicrobial resistance problem, marine microorganisms with the bioactivity against multi-drug resistant (MDR) pathogens have attracted many scientific interests. To address this issue, a total of 21 marine actinomycetes isolated from the Caspian Sea have been screened out. Primary screening via cross-streak method revealed that 3 strains: MN2, MN39, and MN40 produce antimicrobial ...

Development of novel ultrashort antimicrobial peptide nanoparticles with potent antimicrobial and antibiofilm activities against multidrug-resistant bacteria

Conventional antibiotics are facing strong microbial resistance that has recently reached critical levels. This situation is leading to significantly reduced therapeutic potential of a huge proportion of antimicrobial agents currently used in clinical settings. Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) could provide the medical community with an alternative strategy to traditional antibiotics for combating...
